Artist in Residence
Julia Szwed
Julia is a multidisciplinary artist and one of our very first residents. Her work is concept driven and aim’s to have a positive impact on the world and it’s people. With a background in graphic design her work has developed to have a more illustrative and typographic focus. Expressive, hand-rendered typography is one of her most biggest strengths combined with detailed illustration. Her inspiration is sourced from her environment, nature, music and social justice while her work varies between branding, mural work, digital, print, illustration, graffiti and sign making.
She is the creator of our branding here at Arte y Arena.
Artist In Residence
Lieke
Lieke is a mural artist and works in various styles. She also works with other visual projects such as natural art and decorative stuff, also in Arte y Arena!
She started with nature inspired tattoos, which is now the main part of her artistic work. She loves to use her creativity as a means to make people aware of our relationship with nature.
She gets her inspiration directly from nature and she sees art as a powerful tool to make a statement about how we relate to everything around us.
